Some of the veterans passed away as a result of unforeseen events or chronic illnesses.

Ameh Ada
Ada Ameh, 48, passed away in Warri Delta State on July 17, 2022.
The actress, who had struggled with depression, had been in the State to visit a family when she passed out unexpectedly. Although she was taken to the hospital right away, she was already dead.
Ameh spent more than 20 years working in the Nigerian film industry after being born on May 15, 1974. Following the passing of her daughter and some family members, she experienced depression.
She was best known for playing Anita in the 1996 film Domino and Emu Johnson in the critically acclaimed Nigerian television series The Johnsons.
Samantha Okposo
On November 25, 2022, Sammie Okposo, a well-known gospel singer, passed away. The "wellu wellu" singer allegedly passed away at his home in Lagos State while sleeping. The 51-year-old was buried in a private cemetery in Ikoyi, Lagos State, after expressing regret for having extramarital affairs months before his passing.
Nwachukwu Osinachi
When news broke that the "Ekwueme singer" had died as a result of domestic abuse, it shocked the entire world. Osinachi died tragically after allegedly being beaten by her husband.
Osinachi's husband is accused of beating and chest-kicking her, putting her in the hospital. Additionally, it was asserted that Osinachi had throat cancer, a claim that was refuted by her family. The husband is currently being tried in this case in court.
On June 25, 2022, the mother of three was laid to rest. Her husband is still behind bars.
David Onyemachi
Veteran actor Leonard Onyemachi died on Saturday, May 14, 2022, after a battle with kidney disease.
The actor, who became famous after appearing in the hugely successful Nollywood film "Labista," underwent a kidney transplant four years prior but passed away from the illness in 2022.
Beijing Nwadike
Chinedu Nwadike, a gospel minister, passed away on March 27, 2022, after battling an unidentified illness.
His well-known songs "Marry me" and "God of vengeance" were both hits.
Amuta Romanus
Romanus Amuta, a well-known Nollywood actor, passed away on February 10, 2022. The veteran passed away after a lengthy illness.
He gained notoriety for playing Natty in the sitcom "New Masquerade."
Christine Bernard
On April 29, 2022, Chinedu Bernard, a rising star in Nollywood, collapsed and passed away while cleaning St. Enugu State's Leo the Great Catholic Church.
It is unknown what led to her passing away.
Costa Swavey
Patrick Fakoya, a well-known former Big Brother Naija contestant, passed away on October 13 following a horrific car accident. Rico was known for being peaceful, so news of his passing shocked his followers.
The 29-year-old was buried at the Ebony vault in Ikoyi, Lagos State, after spending two days in a coma.
